The Legal Cell is constituted with the objective of hassle-free work of the RV University without any legal obstruction. For this purpose, legal vetting for internal and external matters such as litigation, investigations and its compliance.

The legal cell provides legal opinion, consultation, vetting and advice in the matter related to the University as well as reviewing the rules, contracts and agreements etc. generated by the schools / departments of the University. Legal Cell also helps the University in drafting resolutions, letters, memos and participating in balanced administrative decision-making.

The Core Functions of the Legal Cell:

  1. Representing the University in various courts and tribunals across service, academic and administrative related matters.
  2. Drafting, reviewing, and vetting contracts, MoUs, policies, and legal notices.
  3. Advising university authorities on legal risks, statutory compliance, and governance-related queries.
  4. Facilitating legal due diligence for university initiatives, collaborations, and disciplinary actions support to student disciplinary committee.
  5. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws including the State Private Universities Act (RV University Act 2019), UGC norms, RTI Act, and Labour Laws.
